So last night a friend of ours from the Spanish Branch came over. We have a deal worked out: She teaches me how to cook Salvadorian food and I talk to her in English so she can practice. We made pupusas this time and they were SOOOO good! Pupusas are just stuffed corn tortillas. After making the corn tortilla dough (masa) you put carnitas (pork), mozzarella cheese, refried beans, and sour cream in the middle, make a ball, press it flat, and then fry. It sounds like a lot, but it actually goes pretty quick. You eat the pupusas with Cortido and salsa. Cortido is cabbage, jalapeno, onion, lemon, vinager, and water. It's AWESOME. You're also supposed to eat it with your hands, so it's way messy. After Anna Ruth left, some missionaries that used to serve in the spanish branch came back to Kentucky to visit and stopped by. It was really funny seeing them again and not calling them "elder." They brought our friend Emilia with them. They helped baptize her over a year ago and she's just been the most amazing convert. She's going through the temple this saturday and we are all WAY excited! Anyway, that was our thursday night.

Those sound really good! I love that you've got some good culture in your lives...really cool.
I love that everyone is flashing gang signs but Shane. It is like he is posing for a completely different picture.
Sounds like fun. My bro in law makes a yummy Philipino dish. I feel cultured when I eat it.
By the way, sorry I have't seen you much at church. I think this week I'm going to pretend like I don't play the piano anymore so I can actually attend some classes.
Those are soooo good. My brother in law served his mission there and made some for us once.
Sounds way yummy. I have to agree with Tracy....Shane looks a bit like he missed the boat in that picture. And your comment is hillarious....you are definitly not fat, but thanks for the laugh. Don't worry today we took pictures up in the snow and the way my snow pants and coat poofed I looked way pregnant, at least you are married...think of how this looks for me!
Those sound yummy. You'll have to invite us over sometime so we can try them! :)
