Going private

So I've been doing some thinking lately (as scary as that may seem). I'm thinking I want to either set my blog to "private" where only invited readers can access it, or go "anonymous". I'm starting to get a little paranoid about sharing names and such (thanks Jessica!). Anyway, what do you guys think? Which way should I go? If I go anonymous I will just assign all of us "nicknames" and then go back through all of my old blogs and change them. This way I can still stay private, but I feel a little better about sharing events. Any suggestions?

I've got friends who do both. The thing I like about going anonymous is that long-lost friends can still find me (recognize my picture or whatever). I have people I'd like to reconnect with, but their blogs are private & I have no way to contact them since I'm not invited to view. Either way, I'm still getting the dirt on you & your family! Unless you disinvite me... ;)

I like the idea of going anonymous. For the same reasons as Keri said. I should probably do the same.

I have friends who do both as well; I am still up in the air about it. I like people to be able to find me (long lost buddies, you know?) but at the same time, it makes me nervous.....I have a friend who just gave everyone initials; nicknames works just as well! Recently I've tried to make my blog a little less informative. Zach and I are still discussing the private idea!

Hey- this is totally off subject. But a while back you had a video that had like slides and music (I think it was from your ward Christmas party) I was wondering how you made it or where you made it. I want to make some vids like that and I have no idea how...let me know.

Just lay your life out for everyone to read..I like to be an open book!!! If you start givin' everyone nick names, I'm gonna be lost along with others who don't want to admit it. Do you have a past you would like to share with me??? Do I need to be watching for you or your family on any kind of FBI or criminal investigation show??

I haven't had a problem, and I try not to give too much info. So far, so good. Maybe I am naieve and too trusting. I hate thinking the worst of people and being too paranoid. So far some people have found me. Besides, your blog is way too much fun and you might dis-invite me. After all I am married to Reed. Want to take a cross country skiing trip? :D!!

I agree with Keri. I don't use nick names on mine but if you notice I don't use last names. As long as your friends are careful with your names it works out well. I'm thinking of changing my blogsite name for that very reason. Either way you go I'm good with it. I like that people can find my blog and I don't have to invite them...but you have to be careful. Sorry that I scared you. I have lots of friends who have been careful and not used last names and they are just fine! No need to use nicknames. I think the key is be careful with info. Don't give out city and state...just give state. I have only had the one friend get the real stalker and she had way to much info up. Also if you are nervous I downloaded sitemeter so you can see if someone is spending lots of time on your blog or if you have way more people visiting it then you think you do. I think you are fine. I have considered the options as well and I think I'm staying public for the time being. Either way...let me know. After all we are buddies on facebook...I mean you are my number three friend you can't cut me off of your blog or I would have to demote you.

Ollie...do you really think you are that special that someone would want to staulk you?? ;)
Alright, alright, I'm just kidding! You are totally staulk-worthy!

So...did you decide to stay public or what? You can't just leave us hanging.
